Material
- 2 Light Emitting Diodes (LEs)
- Battery Holder with 2 pins
- 3v Coin Cell Battery
- Conductive Tape
- Glue
- Black Fur
- White Felt
- Blue Felt
Instruction
- Take a small cylindrical foam block
- Take the two legs of an LED and split them apart until the LED will sit flat on a foam block.
- Orientate the LED legs so they run down the centre of curved side of the block
- Repeat with a second LED and place it beside the first. These will become the eyes.
- Wrap a piece of conductive tape over the top of one legs of each of the LED legs and take it half way around the block.
- Wrap a second piece of conductive tape over the top of both of the second leg of the LEDs and around the back of the block but leave a 1cm gap to the other piece of tape
- Take the fur, check which direction you want it to go.
- Fold the fur in half and put two small cuts in it to fit the LEDs through
- Glue the fur onto the block while the LED pops out of the hole. Make sure that you do not cover the battery holder.
- Insert the battery holder and battery with one pin in each of the pieces of tape.
- Cut back the fur around the eyes so that there is a solid area to stick the eyes on
- Stick on the pom-pom to create a nose
- Stick the eyes on with glue.
Problem Solving
- If the LED TapeBlock is not working check that the legs on the LED are touching conductive tape
- Check that the glue and fur are not blocking the circuit
